We will not have
homework for the last two
weeks prior to the
Christmas break
Homework is an important part of
your child's overall learning
experience.  By working with your
child each night, you help to establish
the routines and habits that will
benefit your child for years to come!

It is very important that children develop good study habits.  By
establishing a homework routine in the early grades, children will be
better prepared for the demands of the secondary grades.  As we
begin to establish those routines, I ask you to help your child by:
1.  Reading with / to your child each night.  Then record the book or
story on the book log.
2.  Check your child's folder each night.  Let your child see you place
money and notes in the binder so that he / she learns that the binder
is an important communication link between home and school.
3.  Review work that is sent home.  Talk with your child about what he
/ she is learning.  I often write "Please practice at home." on work
for which your child had difficulty.  Please try to review any concepts
that may be difficult for your child.
